VIGIL2 is a Voice Alarm, Voice Evacuation, Public Address system designed specifically to meet the life safety issues contained within , EN54 part 16, BS5839 part 8 and EN60849.

Research has proven that in an emergency people will react without confusion or panic if they receive a clear, intelligible message. Bells and sounders only give a warning, what that warning is, is never clear. Phased evacuation using clear, easily understood, pre-recorded messages ensure that even untrained personnel are evacuated speedily and efficiently.

In a VIGIL2 Voice Alarm / Voice Evacuation system all critical signal paths from the Fire Officer’s microphone, through the amplifiers to the end of the loudspeaker lines, are monitored. Battery backup comes as standard. The power supply and internal battery charger are also fully monitored. Where is VIGIL2 used?

Use VIGIL2 at the heart of all Voice Alarm and Voice Evacuation systems in buildings where it is essential to evacuate people quickly and easily. A Voice Alarm / Voice Evacuation system could be installed in all offices, factories, warehouses, shops, sports stadia, cinemas, theatres, schools and public buildings. VIGIL2 will integrate with any fire alarm system and will ensure that alert and evacuate messages are broadcast clearly and intelligibly. Operating automatically means that the system will not be dependent on an operator controlling it, unless the Fire Officer takes charge. VIGIL2 is designed to protect.

System Design and Rack Build

The designing of a system is a very important part of the service that we provide. Our willingness and ability to make special products has contributed to our success. Very few systems are exactly the same, which means there is a need for all design parameters to be taken into consideration.

Our system design engineers will, whenever possible, configure the system using standard products. However, we recognise and cater for those projects that require something different and special. This, for example, could be a custom-built microphone or control panel. Once we have agreed on the design, we will build the system and can, if required, arrange for commissioning and maintenance once the installation has been completed.

With all VIGIL2 Voice Alarm Systems and Voice Evacuation Systems it is critical that during the design stages both fire rated cable and loudspeakers are incorporated, thus ensuring the whole system will comply to relevant standards.

Batteries

We recommend and supply high-quality lead acid batteries. They are sealed, valve regulated and maintenance free. As standard our batteries are available rated at 15, 40, 60, 75, 90 and 125 Ampere hours. Larger standby systems can be provided and will be designed and calculated by our engineers. It is important that all Voice Alarm batteries comply with BS5839 or EN60849. The batteries automatically activate when the mains has failed under emergency conditions.
