The complete Emergency Voice Communication system

VIGIL OmniCare is a fully addressable emergency voice communication system that allows disabled refuge, fire telephones and disabled toilet alarm remote units to be connected to just one system. It has been developed in accordance with BS5588, BS5839 part 9 and BS8300:2001 (for the Disabled Toilet Alarm).

The system has two main components; a Master Control Panel and the Remote units. The Master Control Panel is available in various options: 8 - 128 way. Control panels also function as slave panels when wired into a VIGIL OmniCare system on the ring circuit loop. The Master Control Panel is normally wall mounted within a central control room, with additional panels at other locations for control of local areas, e.g. in a stairwell or fallback position. The remote units are supplied in four different styles: Disabled Refuge, Fire Telephone, Disabled Toilet Alarm and combined Disabled Refuge/Fire telephone.

Optional stainless steel kit available, featuring a stainless steel reset buton and over door light/sounder (controllers and pull cord white).

System Requirements:

Fire rated enhanced four core cable with a screen must be used for loops. Up to 200m cable run between Remote Units and Master Control Panel as standard. A repeater unit must be used if distance between remote units exceeds 200m.

Disabled Refuge, Fire Telephone, combined DRS/Fire Telephone and Toilet Alarm Units can be placed on the same loop. Typically 20-30 remotes per loop. A ring circuit configuration must be used to wire the remotes.

remotes - bvfrepemRepeaters are used to connect the Toilet Alarms to the system.

There is incidence of unusually high capacitance of MICC cable and we would ask you to down rate the distances as shown below. The capacitance of MICC cable varies between manufacturers so if you do have to specify MICC cable and if the runs are greater than 100 metres, you may wish to contact our technical team to ensure it is within tolerance.

MICC lightweight four core with screen: 100m.
MICC heavyweight four core with screen: 200m.
Enhanced colour coded four core with screen: 200m
(recommended by Baldwin Boxall).
