Stamford Bridge Stadium, London, UK

Stamford Bridge Stadium is the home ground for Chelsea Football Club. With a capacity of over 41,500, the stadium has been used as a venue for England International matches, European Competitions, FA Cup Finals and Semi-Finals, and Charity Shield matches.

Stanford Bridge has also hosted many other sporting fixtures including Cricket matches and Rugby Union matches.

The stadium has a Baldwin Boxall OmniCare Fire Telephone system installed.

The Project

The specially designed OmniCare fire telephone system was installed by Icon Connect, Letchworth. The system is controlled via touch screen PC interfaces with a full graphic representation of the site. Users are able to simply touch the screen to respond to incoming calls and then clear speech communication is achieved via the handset.

Bespoke requests by the client included a wing style lock for the fire telephones and also special screening complete with a company logo.

The Omnicare EVC system is well-established and, in addition to fire telephones, it can include disabled refuge outstations and disabled toilet alarms. Other features of the system are the combined disabled refuge and fire telephone outstation and also the Advance style disabled refuge unit.

Russell Harding, Managing Director, Icon Connect, commented “We have carried out a number of iconic projects using Baldwin Boxall systems and we were delighted to be able to add this one to our portfolio. We have been a customer of Baldwin Boxall for almost 30 years and have got to know the team very well. We know that when a request for a special product is put forward that they will listen and are able to come up with a solution.”
