A hive of activity

The Baldwin Boxall sponsored beehive in West Sussex has seen a flurry of activity in recent weeks.

The end of May saw the bees expanding at a fast rate. The reason being is to make sure that there are enough bees in the workforce for the summer honey crop. The pollen that the bees are starting to bring into the hive now will make for a very flavourful spring honey!

Worker bees are currently covering a 3 mile radius from the hive, which can be seen by the different colour variations in pollen that are being collected.

Our hive currently has 3 honey boxes on it and will probably need more before the spring harvest has ended!
