The BDM400 Serial Networking Microphone Range

The stylish black and silver BDM400 range of microphones employ one RJ45 eight-way CAT5 lead, enabling simple networking.  The range has serial RS485 zone select and an analogue output signal.  LEDs on the microphone indicate zone busy, power, fault and data.  Additionally, the BDM401 has the option to operate as a standard parallel microphone.

Using CAT5 cable, up to eight BDM400 series microphones can be linked together (via wall sockets) and connected to a single input at the rack.

The monitored versions also feature a fault buzzer providing an audible, as well as visual, signal to alert the operator to a system fault.

BDM401(M)

The BDM401(M) is a single-zone free-standing paging microphone with a cardioid microphone. The tactile membrane switches, which are a feature of the BDM range, make operation easy and keep the top surface smooth and a pleasure to use. Adjacent to each switch is a space for identification details. This is achieved by inserting a legend strip underneath the membrane.

The BDM401(M) can also be operated as a parallel microphone. This option is selected internally by jumpers. Factory setting is for serial operation.

BVRAMB

The BVRAMB monitors the ambient noise in a given area using a dynamic microphone capsule, the output of which is amplified and converted to produce a variable current output.  This output is used to produce a voltage that is proportional to the level of ambient noise. The BVRAMB can be connected either direct to the VIGIL2 EVAS router or via a BVRDCI (interface module).
