Northern Sales Manager

We are looking to recruit a Northern Sales Manager to work closely with our sales team. This role will be based from home, with some time expected to be spent at the head office to attend meetings and training.
The successful candidate will take our product ranges into our existing customers as well as new prospects. The areas covered by this role will be the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Full product training will be given.

The hours are 35 per week (Monday-Friday).

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Deliver consistently profitable results by implementing new business strategy.
  • Create effective relationships with key decision makers in target organisations.
  • Negotiate prices with customers.
  • Ability to promote the company.
  • Work with consultants to get the Baldwin Boxall product specified.
  • Convert proposals into profitable contracts.
  • Research and qualify prospects to activate new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver creative proposals to prospective partners/clients.
  • Establish and develop effective business relationships with appropriate potential clients.
  • Understand key market factors and dynamics of the target markets.
  • Manage activity targets by setting realistic daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  • Attend trade shows when required (some overseas travel might be required).
  • Regular liaising and call planning with UK Sales Manager.

The preferred ideal candidate should have:

  • A broad knowledge of Voice Evacuation and the EVC market.
  • A working knowledge of standards to include BS5839 and EN54.
  • An understanding of acoustics and loudspeakers.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience of sales in the voice evacuation/public address and EVC market.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Be extremely well organised and be self-motivated.
  • Be very confident when liaising with all suppliers and customers.

Project Manager

We are looking to recruit a Project Manager within our Sales Office. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Sales Office Manager and the Sales & Marketing Director. He/she will be required to work with our customers and internal staff to manage voice alarm and emergency voice communication projects, to ensure systems are delivered to meet the customer’s requirements.

The hours are 35 per week (Monday-Friday).

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Liaise with Sales Admin to ensure the correct equipment has been quoted for each project.
  • Ensure the equipment required meets the specification provided by our customer or consultant.
  • Design the rack layout/s using Stardraw or CAD drawing package as required.
  • Design wiring schematics with Stardraw or CAD to allow for onsite and rack cabling as required.
  • Liaise with our customer’s project managers to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  • Liaise with our specials department to ensure the rack build process meets our customer’s deadlines.
  • Arrange factory acceptance tests with our customer and sit in on these to enable us to sign off the project.
  • Liaise with our internal engineering team to make arrangements for any on site commissioning or any technical visits.
  • Attend onsite project management meetings when required.

When required, carry out the following duties:

  • Provide compliance statements where required.
  • Provide advice and guidance on customer’s product selection.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers.
  • Provide updated information on existing projects/orders to customers.
  • Liaise with other departments in order to provide accurate details for the project.
  • To take part in sales meetings.
  • Offering assistance wherever possible to colleagues.
  • Work with the other departments to provide accurate, well presented business information.
  • Any other duties as required.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Good communication skills and telephone manner.
  • To work to deadlines and have the ability to work under some pressure.
  • Numeracy skills.
  • Have an understanding of CAD packages.
  • Computer literate (Excel and Word).
  • Presentable.
  • Flexible.
  • An interest in electronics.
  • Work and contribute as part of the sales team, but also be self-motivated and be available for any other tasks deemed appropriate by colleagues.
  • Qualifications required: 5 C grade or above in GCSE to include English Language and Maths.
  • Training support will be provided as required.
