Adept A120 modular amplifier

The Adept A120 is a versatile, proven workhorse modular amplifier that can be configured with up to eight separate input modules and one mixer stage to produce a tailored solution to a Public address systems needs and importantly can be updated in situ by adding or upgrading modules. The A120 can be mains, 230V AC, or battery, 24V DC, powered and can also be fitted with an internal 1amp battery charger, unit AC1A. The rear of the A120 has a sub-socket that can used to feed other amplifiers, mixers, to operate busy lamps or relays or for tape recording.

Adept's key features:

230V AC mains or 24V DC operation, suitable for use across Europe.

Wide variety of modules can be fitted to achieve a diverse range of functions.

Fully customisable with up to eight modules and one mixer stage per A120 frame, see below.

Unique module locking system keeps all modules secure within the amplifier frame.

Loudspeaker output 50V or 100V line.

Can be free standing or rack mounted.

Can be fitted with a 1 Amp, 24V battery charger option; AC1A.

Adept A120 module:

IMPX * Universal Input Module

This will accept low impedance microphones and line input. Priority, Vox input, phantom powering and limiter functions are all selectable using DIL switches. There are internal presets for adjusting preset gain, limiter threshold and vox sensitivity. The priority system is selectable between cascade, full mixing or equal access. Output is routable direct to the power amplifier or mixer stage. Microphone surveillance is possible via integration with an IMP18 or MICSUR module.

IMP10 Music Input Module

This module is generally used to interface music sources, e.g. CD player (ACD) or tape player (BTT). It features a dual sensitivity unbalanced high impedance input, with a preset VR1 gain on the PCB providing a 20dB adjustment. The input can be muted instantly by any priority input, and the signal fades back gently once the priority input is de-accessed.

IMP18 Speaker dual end of line monitor module

This unit comprises two BEL1 detector units and may also need an AL9D fault jumper lead. Can be set at either 30Hz or 20KHz and thus suitable for a wide range of loudspeaker systems.

IMP20 Sinewave Surveillance Tone Generator

Ideal for start/stop work, class change, etc. It features selectable time pips, continuous pips and continuous tone modes.

IMP21 Alarm Generator

Features selectable alarm tone; dee daa, slow whoop and fast whoop.

IMP110 AM/FM tuner

A fully functioning tuner that occupies two modules in the amplifier frame, i.e. if chosen only six other spaces remain. 7 x FM, 7 x AM and 1 Auxiliary programme. An internal battery supports the tuner memory.

IMP401 * Digital unmonitored message module

Provides playback for a single recordable message of up to 60 seconds length. Message can be factory set or recorded in-situ . Playback mode is selected by contacts wired to the input connector.

IMP402 * Message repeater module (EPROM)

This module is used with the system to create a Voice Alarm facility, i.e. to play Alert and Evacuation messages, and can be used in all system that requires a pre-recorded message to be broadcast. Messages can be time activated or via integration to a Fire/Emergency system. The system is EPROM based for playback of messages only. A single message can be up to 64 seconds long. Messages are recorded onto the EPROM at the factory either using those supplied by the customer or from our extensive library.

MS1 Mixer stage

Master volume, bass and treble controls.

AC1A Battery Charger module

This is a small add-on board that is designed to be fitted to any ADEPT system. It provides a constant 27.1V at a maximum output current of 1A and is thus suitable for charging batteries used for emergency back-up to mains supplies, and is self-monitoring.

Modules marked * will work with both the ADEPT and VIGIL2 product ranges.

All modules have full technical sheets which are readily available via the Baldwin Boxall website download section.
